Your one-stop shop for all things heavy timber. We specialize in a wide range of residential, commercial and public sector projects.

The story of Milestone Timberworks reflects our passion and commitment for building the future. Owners Brad & Erica Shurtliff purchased “Tombstone Timber” in 2009. A few saws, a truck and trailer and the business name, the company grew during a difficult time in the construction industry.

With a dedicated team of local craftsmen and sales representatives, Tombstone Timber expanded to serve customers across the Western United States primarily through word of mouth, repeat customers and referral; the truest compliments any business can receive.

After nearly a decade, we decided to select a name of our own for this business which has in our books, only just begun to make its impact on the industry and the communities we serve. One client at a time. In 2019 we are happy to announce the formal name change to Milestone Timberworks. It’s simple really – we recognize every item we build marks a milestone in our client’s life.

Our relationships are the best part of this business, and we love creating spaces where you celebrate the best life has to offer. For the milestone this work is in our own family’s life and our team’s, thank you for making it possible. For the next Milestones in your life and your client’s lives, we look forward to celebrating.

Our products are meant to support and enhance quality of life. Our passion is delivering a quality product and an unparalleled customer experience from the moment we know your name. Partnering with general contractors, homeowners, organizations and industry professionals, we breathe life into buildings through beautiful timber accents and framing. We use value engineering to minimize cost and maximize value. We typically use free of heart center Douglas Fir, and also work with cross-laminated timber, particularly glue-laminated timber (glulam).

Although there are some variations, this is an overview of our general process. When your project needs are defined, our team will outline the build process and provide consistent communication throughout to make your life easier.

After receiving a bid request, one of our team members will verify all information, assemble an estimate and contact you to review details, walk through the process and answer any questions you might have.

By this stage, our expert craftsman have reviewed the plan and provided input on materials, joinery and finishes to verify it meets your standard and ours. A final design drawing is produced for approval.

Clients receive notice along each step of their project’s progression through the production phase. We love the building process from start to finish and sharing it makes it that much better.

We are committed to upholding our values in every project and task we take on.

We respect and steward the finite resources of our clients, community and world. In doing so, we become a world class company dedicated to continual growth, innovation and excellence. We look out for one another, actively participate in our professional communities, and strengthen the communities we work in.  We are committed to producing the finest quality product possible and believe in doing so, we make lives better.
